Hi all ! My Uk tour is now finished. It was great. I Landed in London on Monday 5th dec, my heavy bag and guitar following me, jumping from plane to train, to underground. I met my breton mate Ronan, now working over there; we havn't seen each other for 5 years. And what a surprise to see he's living close to Abbey Road.
Northampton 6th :
Great Knight Folk Club was my first stop. A great audience for 90 minutes of music. I couldn't stop. All my gear was doing well (guitar, loop, pedal board) and the band Kismet Hardy was supporting me. THanks to Mr New & Jolly for the welcome.
Cardiff 7th :
5 hours train later I am in Cardiff Millemnium Centre, meeting my Swansea Jack pal Andy Jones. He perfomed at a poetry night with Angardh Jenkins on fiddle, I really enjoy discovering those words and lyrics. I am a bit disapointed to hear than Martyn Joseph was playing here yesterday; we 've occasionnally been chating in virtual ways, having a coffee would have been better.
Swansea 8th :
The Garage Venue, is still going on and has become a famous Swansea place to play and listen to many great and diverse acts. It sounds loud and I like making my acoustic Yari guitar scream in the room. So many people jumping and clapping along makes me laugh and makes my energy levels soar. Last August I've played here again with my full line up, day after the Big Week End Cardiff festival and we had so good carig, I could'nt come back on this solo tour.
Bethesda 9th :
8 hours on a Traws Cambria bus ! I can do it ! Crossing all Welsh cities from south to north, it's an incredible trip up north, from south sheep fields to north sheep mountains. Other passengers are mostly grey haired grandmas and pupils coming back from school. I met the great singer Stephanie Finegan ( Anti Folk punk songwriter) on the coach and we had a good chat about music living. The Bethesda venue is sold out tonight and I hope I will have enough cd's in my case for the whole week ? Not sure.
Dolgellau 10th :
Ty Siamas is a welsh music center, and again the audience is there. I can now introduce my breton songs with a few welsh sentences, understanding that Y welsh is I breton, W welsh is U breton. Not too difficult. Steve Eaves Band does great after me, and I met another friend Gwynn Maffia, who was drumming with Steve.
Bala 12th :
Rwy'n Plas Coch bala Dydd Llun: ffrindiau Wynn, Gwynn, Bethan ymuno â mi. Iechi da !
Chester 12th :
I am on my way back home via East Midlands and have a stop in Chester . Nice historical city. At least I find Alexander's venue where an open Mic is on tonight. I join other some fellows playing a few songs and have a slot for 3. It was alot better than a boring night at the hotel.
See all you friends next February in Midlands and North Wales.
